A Peek at my Works...
Who am I?
![Dicord Emote Commission](assets/images/image19.jpg?v=3da938fe)
Well, I'm glad you asked! My name is Clara, online known as Voice of Time, and I am an aspiring Illustrator/Animator that is currently attending SNHU, hoping to graduate this Spring/Summer with a BA in Graphic Design (3D modeling focus). I'm 24 years old currently, and I have had a huge affection towards creative works such as animation ever since I was young and capable enough to toddle up to the T.V. and turn it on all by myself. If you can't tell by looking through my work, I'm very interested in character design and like to draw all sorts of interesting creatures. I think it's my love of Pokemon from a young age that translated well into being a lover of other critters in the world, such as dinosaurs! I'm a bit of a paleo nerd/fan, and I would love to be able to work on a project in the same scope. In fact, it is my mission and strongest desire to be able to play a helping hand or supporting role in a project that can create a community around it, even if the project itself ends up being a bit more niche and the numbers that flock to it are small. I have a want to give back to the world and create something that people will be inspired by, contributing to the loop of wonderful artwork and creativity. Communities formed around franchises really did help me when I felt alone growing up; having a common interest to gravitate towards other peers is such a strong and powerful tool to have, especially when you want to feel like you belong in such a confusing time of life!

Commissions
Past commission work, done freelance for customers found through online platforms such as
Twitter and Discord
Emote Commissions
Emotes are a branch of illustration that have become more large spread thanks to the Gaming Platform known as Twitch.Emotes allow for patrons of Streamers (the title of people that livestream) to interact in a more fun and playful way.
The appeal of emotes is to be expressive in a small space, usually confined to dimensions as small as 28x28 pixels to as large as 112x112.

Character Commissions
Character commissions are another fun type of commission opportunity to take up, however there is a bit less restraint than an emote might have. For one, you get a larger canvas to work on, which allows for more detail work and exploration in posture and design. It's also very interesting being able to work with the color palettes you might end up with when working on creatures that come entirely from someone else's mind, and having to adjust them into your style!

Portfolio
Looking for a bit more professional pieces of mine? Then, look no further!By navigating the options below, you'll be able to get a glimpse at the work I've produced during my learning at SNHU!
2D Work
SNHU has provided a number of opportunities and projects that allow students to learn more about graphic design and working within set limitations.Of course, there's opportunity for broader creativity which you'll be able to see as well!

TOWN Restaurant Branding
Graphic Design
The objective of this course was to use a branding guide, which was a first for me, in order to make a number of presentable elements that could fit the theme and message of the brand in question. We had to choose between 'Pasta Amore' and 'TOWN Restaurant', which I chose the latter of. And honestly, I'm so glad I did, because the cool color palette was really nice and refreshing to work with.I created several designs, being a table tent, a restaurant menu, and a folded menu for this assignment. We also had to create multiple markups to explain our decisions, which you'll be able to view below!

Voiceless Tales Poster
Graphic Design
Basic Design and Color Theory is an intro-level class that was focused on allowing students to use creativity in order to create imagery personal to them / a brand. For my project, I decided to create a poster for an imaginary Graphic Design company that was based off the name of one of my other 'brand ideas' that I have had in the past. Since I like to go by 'Voice of Time', I decided a company I ran could realistically be called 'Voiceless Tales'. The meaning of the name is around the idea of a lot of online media, such as illustration, not really having a literal voice, and yet they're still able to tell a story/narrative that interest people! You'll find a lot of the imagery that goes with my preferred themes in this image, mainly being the stars and space. Hands were used to signify the manual part of the labor that goes into design, and of course a distant imprint of a pair of lips to be a fun 'callback' to the name of the company itself.

Voice of Time Print Materials
Graphic Design
My most recent course, Advanced Digital Imaging, has been very intensive and focused on developing the brand that I and my classmates wish to convey in the professional field. We explored by creating a number of important materials, from our personal logo, to business cards, letterheads, and even a leave behind piece that could leave a strong impact on a potential employer. The logo required us to use Adobe Illustrator, which was definitely a program I have had a very rickety trial and error process with to get my logo just right. I'm very pleased with it, though! And I believe that its rounded nature helps my logo feel fun and approachable. My other materials were primarily made in Adobe Photoshop which, by this point, I think I've become quite fluent in its use. I also utilized my favorite illustration program, Clip Studio Paint, in creating my leave behind piece!

Miscellaneous 2D Art
Digital Illustration
The works I feel that demonstrate my capabilities best as a digital artist in creating polished pieces of work. I primarily emphasize color palettes that mesh well together to make sure that the central character pops, along with low-detail cartoony backgrounds to help add an atmosphere!
Many of these works were created using both ClipStudioPaint and Adobe Photoshop together!

3D Work
SNHU has, also, allowed me to work better at understanding the importance of 3D design and the work that goes into it!I can't be as comprehensive as I want to be about the process, but hopefully showing you some finished pieces will give a good idea on my learning.
Table Prop
MAYA / Substance Painter / UE4
Yep, it's exactly what it looks like. A table! This course at SNHU was by far one of my favorites, with the instructor providing step-by-step video tutorials on the appropriate industy-level workflow we used throughout the course. All models started off as low poly designs in MAYA that were carefully UV unwrapped, made into a slightly higher resolution, and then exported to be sculpted and have their layers mapped out for material painting.I was fortunate enough to learn about new processes, such as baking sculpts so that detail could still be retained even on lower-poly versions of a prop. This helps preserve and maintain the illusion of depth for things such as chipping, carved surfaces, dents, and more! We were even able to learn how to make metallic and rusted surfaces, which was really fun because I've always wondered how such varying textures are all able to exist upon a single surface / model.
